We don't sell a new system to a house that doesn't need one.

A zoned system puts motorized dampers in the ductwork and a thermostat in each zone, so the primary suite, the living areas, and the upstairs each hold their own temperature. You stop overcooling empty rooms to fix one hot one, which is where the comfort and the efficiency both come from.

A straight swap, same location and same ducts, is usually 1 to 2 days. A new system with duct design and zoning runs 3 to 5 days. Pulling and replacing all the ductwork in an existing house is 5 to 7 days, and the real variable is access: an open attic with headroom goes fast, a tight crawlspace or a finished ceiling we have to open up takes longer.

They're the right call when there's no ductwork and no clean way to add it: ADUs, converted garages, home offices, additions, pool houses, and a lot of older LA homes that were never built for central air.
