Why We Started Forma
The residential remodeling industry in Los Angeles has a well-earned reputation for vague estimates, shifting timelines, and radio silence between milestones. Homeowners learn to expect this and they shouldn't have to.
Forma was built specifically to fix these problems. Not with marketing language, but with operational structure: a real scope definition process before contracts are signed, itemized pricing rather than ballpark ranges, and weekly photo updates throughout construction. The kind of transparency that used to be rare, and shouldnt be.

Encino · July 2025
Three leaking patios in Encino
Client called us after the first big rain. Three exterior patios were leaking. The wood deck was rotting through in spots. Water was coming through the stucco below and showing up on the dining room ceiling.
We pulled the deck boards. The flashing under the door threshold was the wrong gauge and installed flat. Water was just sitting there, day after day, soaking the framing. Same story on the two side patios.
We re-flashed the perimeter with proper sloped pan flashing. Replaced the rotten decking and the joists where they'd gone soft. Patched the stucco where it had cracked from the water sitting behind it.
Three patios. Eleven days. No more leaks.
West Hollywood · 2025
Marble herringbone in West Hollywood
Owner wanted Carrara marble herringbone running floor-to-ceiling on three shower walls. Zellige tile accent panel. Frameless glass. Brass everything.
Marble herringbone is unforgiving. Each piece gets cut and placed by hand. Veining has to be coordinated across the run or the eye catches a misaligned slab. Grout joints stay tight or the pattern reads wrong.
We mocked up the shower three times before the install crew committed. Pre-laid every Zellige tile on the floor and sorted by tone so the natural variation reads as character instead of chaos. Schluter Kerdi waterproofing. Flood-tested for 24 hours before any tile went down. Brizo unlacquered brass, hand-shower, rain head. Frameless half-inch tempered glass with brass U-channel and a 3/16-inch reveal all the way around.
Ten weeks. Every line aligns with intent.
How We Run a Job
We do fewer projects than most contractors our size. We'd rather take three jobs and run them right than ten and run them half.
Every project is managed directly by leadership. Not passed off to a subcontractor coordinator you've never met. We bring our own framers, finish carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and tile setters. They've been on Forma sites for years.
Proposals are itemized. Timelines are tracked weekly. You get a photo update every Friday and a walkthrough whenever you want one. If a date slips, you hear about it the day it slips, not the week of.
