About This Service

Plumbing is the infrastructure that makes luxury finishes possible. The most beautiful kitchen sink is only as good as the supply lines and drain connections behind it. At Forma Homes, our plumbing work matches the standard of every other trade we bring to your home — clean, precise, permitted, and built to last.

Whole-home repipes are one of our most impactful plumbing services. Most homes in Los Angeles built before 1980 have galvanized steel pipes that corrode from the inside, restricting water flow, discoloring water, and eventually failing. We replace aging galvanized systems with copper or PEX piping — restoring full water pressure and eliminating the risk of pipe failure. Copper is the gold standard for durability and longevity. PEX offers flexibility, faster installation, and excellent performance at a lower cost. We discuss the trade-offs with every client and recommend the best fit for your home.

Fixture installation is where plumbing meets design. We install high-end fixtures from the brands Los Angeles designers specify most — Waterworks, Kohler, Brizo, Rohl, California Faucets, and Dornbracht. Whether it is a freestanding tub filler, a pot filler over the range, or a rain shower system with body jets, we handle the rough-in and final installation to manufacturer specifications.

Gas line work is a critical part of many remodels. New gas cooktops, outdoor BBQ islands, fire pits, pool heaters, and tankless water heaters all require properly sized gas lines run by a licensed plumber. We handle all gas work — from the meter to the appliance — with proper testing, permits, and inspections.

Tankless water heaters are a popular upgrade in Los Angeles homes. They provide endless hot water on demand, take up less space than traditional tank heaters, and are more energy efficient. We also install recirculation loops — a system that keeps hot water ready at every fixture without the wait, eliminating the frustrating delay between turning the handle and getting hot water.

Water filtration is increasingly important to Los Angeles homeowners. Whole-home filtration systems remove sediment, chlorine, and contaminants from every faucet, shower, and appliance in the house. We install and maintain systems from brands like Pentair and Aquasana.

Sewer line repair and replacement is a service no one wants to think about, but older Los Angeles homes often have clay or cast-iron sewer lines that crack, root-intrude, or collapse. We can scope, assess, and replace sewer laterals from the home to the street.

Remodel-specific plumbing is where we deliver the most value. Relocating plumbing for a new kitchen layout, adding a bathroom where one did not exist, running lines to an outdoor kitchen, or roughing in a new ADU — we plan and execute the plumbing to support your design vision without compromises.

Every plumbing project we complete is permitted and inspected. We do not take shortcuts, and we do not leave work behind walls that we would not want in our own homes.

Our Process

A proven approach that keeps your project on track.

01

Assessment

We evaluate your existing plumbing — pipe material, water pressure, fixture condition, and any issues. For repipes, we scope the system to understand the full picture.

02

Planning & Permits

We design the plumbing plan, pull permits, and coordinate scheduling with other trades if the work is part of a larger remodel.

03

Rough-In

New supply lines, drain lines, gas lines, and venting are installed. For repipes, we replace all accessible piping and test for leaks before closing walls.

04

Finish & Inspection

Fixtures are set, connections are tested, gas lines are pressure-tested, and the city inspector signs off on all permitted work.

What to Expect: Investment Ranges

We believe in transparency. Most competitors hide their pricing — we don't.

A whole-home repipe in Los Angeles typically costs $8,000–$18,000 for copper and $5,000–$12,000 for PEX, depending on home size, number of fixtures, and access. Individual fixture installation runs $300–$1,500 per fixture depending on complexity. Tankless water heater installation ranges from $3,000–$6,000 including the unit, gas line, venting, and permit. Gas line installation for a cooktop or outdoor kitchen runs $1,000–$3,000. Whole-home water filtration systems cost $2,000–$5,000 installed.

Our Plumbing Work

Frequently Asked Questions

Signs include low water pressure, discolored water, frequent leaks, and visible corrosion on exposed pipes. If your home was built before 1980 and still has original galvanized pipes, a repipe is almost always recommended.

Copper is the premium standard — durable, long-lasting, and resistant to bacteria. PEX is flexible, faster to install, freeze-resistant, and more affordable. Both are excellent options. We recommend copper for luxury homes and PEX where budget and timeline are priorities.

Most whole-home repipes take 2–4 days depending on the size of the home, number of fixtures, and access to existing pipes. Homes with accessible crawl spaces or basements are faster. Slab homes may require additional time for rerouting.

Yes. Moving plumbing for a new kitchen island, adding a bathroom, or running lines to an outdoor kitchen are all common services we perform. We plan the plumbing around your design, not the other way around.
