Stone is usually the most expensive surface in the room and the first thing anyone notices. Get the slab and the seams right and the room is made. Get them wrong and you look at that mistake every day. We run our own stone fabrication and own the whole thing start to finish: you pick the slab at the yard, we template, we fabricate with our own crew and trusted fabrication partners, and we install. One team carries it from the yard to the final polish, so nobody is pointing fingers when a seam or a cutout has to be perfect. We work the full range, and each stone comes with a real tradeoff. Marble, the Calacatta, Statuario, and Carrara everyone asks for, is soft and porous. Set a cut lemon or a glass of red on it and it can etch, and it will patina over the years. Some people love that lived-in look and some cannot stand it, so we tell you the truth before you sign, not after. Quartzite, in Super White, Taj Mahal, or Patagonia, gets you close to the marble look with far more hardness and stain resistance, which is why we steer most working kitchens toward it. Granite is the workhorse when durability and budget lead. Porcelain slabs are dead uniform and take heat well, a solid low-maintenance modern counter. Onyx is for a backlit feature wall or a vanity meant to stop people, not for a counter that takes daily abuse. We do it in every room: kitchen counters and waterfall islands, floor-to-ceiling shower walls with no grout lines, bookmatched fireplace surrounds, vanities with the sink carved from the same slab, floating shelves, backsplashes, and outdoor counters that hold up to the LA sun. Where the seams fall is the part most people never think about, and it is exactly what separates a clean install from a bad one. We plan seams to land where they read least, tight to a sink or a cooktop, never straight across the middle of an island. A bad install gives you an open seam you can catch with a fingernail, lippage where two slabs sit at slightly different heights, or veining that dead-ends at the seam instead of running through it. We dry-lay and match everything before a single piece gets set. Bookmatching is one thing we do that not every yard or fabricator can pull off. We cut a slab and open the two halves like a book so the veining mirrors. On a waterfall island or a full fireplace surround, that is the difference between a countertop and a centerpiece. It only works if the slab was bought with it in mind, which is one more reason we want you standing at the yard with us. The process itself is straightforward. We laser-template the space for exact dimensions and every cutout for sinks, cooktops, and fixtures. You hand-select the slabs, because veining swings hard from one slab to the next and you cannot judge it from a thumbnail. The stone is CNC-cut to the template, the edges are shaped and hand-polished, mitered for a clean modern waterfall, eased for something minimal, bullnose or ogee when the house wants a more traditional line, and our crew sets it and seals it. Say you fall for a Taj Mahal quartzite slab at the yard with big, flowing veins. We bookmatch it across a waterfall island and run the same stone up as a full-slab backsplash, so the veining carries from the counter onto the wall with no grout line breaking it up. The one island seam tucks behind the range, where you will never find it. About three weeks from template to final polish.
