West LA is the flatland Westside between Brentwood and Culver City: Cheviot Hills, Rancho Park, Westwood South, and Sawtelle, on lots a notch smaller than their pricier neighbors. Most of it went up as 1940s to 1960s ranches, post-war traditionals, and Spanish Revivals, built before central air was standard.
